I just bought an Eames Eiffel chair. I have wanted one for so long. I got a replica from Dwell as I can't afford the real thing from Vitra. I love the the turquoise and purple versions they do though.

I have a bit of a chair obsession, I waste a lot more time than I should looking at beautiful Danish mid-century chairs I can't afford on eBay.

for the TREE

The clocks have gone back and it's now officially winter so it's about time to start getting excited about Christmas. I'm on the lookout for some beautiful decorations for my tree. Wish I could afford to buy all of these from Anthropolgie. Why does everything I want have to be so expensive?

I want these shoes! I know I have a very similar pair already but still if someone could point in the right direction I would be poorer but happy! I know they are from Underground England but they don't seem to have this powder blue version available on their website.

I’m attempting to try really hard not to buy pointless things I don’t really need. Unfortunately Topshop like to make this really difficult for me.

So common sense says these shoes are not really a useful nor a practical purchase and I have two pairs already that are incredibly similar that I hardly ever wear. Also they're kind of ugly. And that I should spend my money on more useful things that I actually need like clothes for work or a haircut or you know, food. But I still want them. Luckily thanks to Adam Curtis and his series Century of the Self I am confident in the knowledge that I can now blame my unattractive consumerist tendencies on a man named Edward Bernays rather than my own weak self. Bernays, Sigmund Freud’s nephew is basically entirely responsible for us being the programmed consumerist machines we are. It’s not quite as brilliant as The Trap but it’s still fascinating. Adam Curtis also has a brilliant blog here.

Mr Hare has updated his website with pictures of his lovely new Spring Summer collection. I'm still holding out hope that maybe one day these will be made for women as well so without further ado, in order of preference, here are my favourites!

The Jerry Lee - the ultimate saddle shoe. I know this style is made by quite a few brands but none of them are as beautiful as these. I really really want these!

The Burroughs in both black and tan. At first I wasn't too sure about the little studs on the back but I'm warming to them as they're quite subtle.

The Zukies. I like all the colours...

I'm also sorry to see that the Genet loafers aren't being reproduced as there aren't many loafers that get it quite right and these definitely do. I also really liked the Barretto. Just for future reference Mr Hare, thanks!
